Your Wisdom Self
You Know More Than You Know
Writing from your "wisdom self" to your "little self" is a powerful tool. Share what's going on with you. Have your wise self offer suggestions, comfort, and awareness. Ask questions of the other and then answer it. Use a slash to signal the changing voice.
Here's an example — if you had anxiety about an event:
"Hi Larissa— I can see you are anxious about tomorrow's event. Makes sense. / Yes I sure am. Over 100 people signed up and you know I don't like big crowds. / Let me ask you — on the edge of the crowd, how many people will you actually talk with? / Probably 7 max. / Ok then — tomorrow you're going to an event with only 7 people. Does that sound doable? / Well when you frame it that way, of course!"
You can use this technique to work out problems you are having or to gain greater insight on things that are bothering you. Let it flow out of you and you'll be surprised what happens.
